I've unintentionally abandoned my blog the past few weeks. I've been designing tons of custom Christmas cards for people & it's been taking up all of my spare time. I know I said I would do a Christmas giveaway, but due to lack of time I am going to do it on Facebook Fan Page or Twitter instead.... Tis the Season

Here's a few of my favorite Christmas cards I designed this year. This is part of the reason I haven't been around much the past couple of weeks. I've been a Christmas card makin' machine! ;) My husband & I did the photography too for most of the cards I designed this year.

I still have four Christmas cards left to design & get printed this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze my own card in this year lol.

Posh Pixels Giveaway: Thanksgiving Circles

I really feel that Thanksgiving is getting the shaft this year, since everyone's been pushing Christmas since before Halloween. So I decided to bring back the Thanksgiving love with my first ever giveaway!

I will be giving away three of my printable Thanksgiving Collection circles. They come as an 8.5" X 11" PDF & include 12 circles. I know it's a little last minute since Thanksgiving is only days away, but I'm a last minute kinda girl. =)

You can use these for lots of different thing - such as cupcake/dessert toppers, gift tags, labels, place cards, & more! They are designed to be cut out with a two inch circle punch. I recommend printing them on a heavy cardstock or matte photo paper.
To enter: Leave a comment telling me what your favorite thing is about Thanksgiving food is. You must be a blog follower to qualify. Please only comment once per person.

Starbucks' Love Project

Well we definitely all know now that I'm not that great of a freehand artist lol. I made this yesterday on Starbucks' Love Project site. For every drawing that is added to the site, Starbucks will contribute five cents towards the Global Fund to help fight Aids in Africa. So create a drawing & see if you can do any better than me! :)

This month fleeeew by, didn't it? I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week already. I tend to get overwhelmed around this time of year & can get so upset about all the things I have to juggle. Gotta love holiday stress, right? :) I've realized that I need to be thankful that I at least have these things to "deal with", because not everyone is fortunate enough to have half of the things I do.

What are you thankful for?

New Swanky Lingerie Collection

I very excited to finally be adding new items to my shop. The past month was really busy, so my shop was being neglected. ;) I designed printable mini cards & printable circles that I think would be perfect for bridal showers or girls' night parties. I'm also working on an invitation to match, which will hopefully be done soon. The lingerie illustrations were done by the fabulous Monique Chvatal. I fell in love with the illustrations when I saw it in Monique's shop & had to find a project for them.

Computer Problems

This week has been a super busy one, & I've also been having some computer problems over the past week. The hard drive on my computer started acting up last week. Luckily I was able to have someone get my files off of it. The computer issues should be resolved soon & then hopefully I will be around more. :)

Etsy Daschund Team

I recently created these photo album covers for a friend of mine, to use on her Myspace & Facebook photo albums. She wanted them so that people knew what they were going to see in the albums before hand. I think it was such a cute idea by her & I love the way they came out.

In college, I started saving magazine ads that I liked or thought were visualizing appealing. I love to have examples & things to reference when I need inspiration or am having creative block. I've been pasting the ads in a sketchbook & feel very accomplished that it's finally full. It may have taken three years, but it's one of many "inspiration books" (as I call them) that I have going on. :)

Glash Push Pins by Daisy Mae Designs

I recently order some fabulous glass push pins off of Etsy, for the fabric covered bulletin board in my office. They are from Daisy Mae Designs, out of Columbus, Ohio, which is owned & operated by Kristy S. - I love her name, by the way ;) - who is originally from Chicago. She creates glass marble magnets, push pins & jewelry. Daisy Mae Designs is named after Kristy's beloved beagle, Ms. Daisy Mae.

I ordered the 'Girl's Night Out' pattern (a black floral pattern on a pink background). They came packaged in a cute metal tin & Kristy even included a sample matching magnet. I absolutely love them!

Custom Business Card Design for Jennifer - Avon Rep.

Jennifer wasn't sure what look she wanted for her business card. She requested that blue be used, but other than that she was open to whatever. I created a design for her business cards that incorporated a modern scrollwork and used a black background behind her information to make it pop. Jennifer plans to print her business cards through Overnight Prints.

A few months ago, I created a logo & business card for my good friend, Jenny Barnhart, who is an aspiring photographer emerging from the heart of Washington, DC. She started Jenny Anne Photography in the spring of 2008, after she graduated from college with a BA in Youth Ministries. Jenny is an amazingly artistic, self taught photographer. Her unique eye showcases the beauty of the Washington DC area & where ever she goes. She loves to travel, & frequently visits areas in Michigan & New York.

Jenny wanted her logo to be simple, elegant, and classy. I used a whimsical image of a girl holding an umbrella & a modern script font paired with a classic serif font to create a classic design with a contemporary feel. It provides an professional yet elegant appeal, which is exactly what Jenny was looking for in a logo to represent her & her company.

'Keep Calm and Carry On' digital prints

just added some new listing to our Etsy shop for a digital collage & a digital poster that is a reproduction of the World War II propaganda poster 'Keep Calm and Carry On'. This files may be printed as many times as you'd like & come in any color of your choice. The digital collage is perfect for creating Scrabble tile pendants, magnets & stickers or use for scrapbooking & any other craft you can think of. Scrabble tile pendants are made from recycled scrabble tiles and decorative paper, & are very easy to make.

The 'Keep Calm and Carry On' poster was originally a propaganda poster released in 1939 by the British Government's Ministry of Information during World War II . It was a message to the people from King George VI to assure them that all necessary measures were being taken to protect their country. Today the message seems just as relevant & reassuring. I have a poster hanging up at in both my office & home office, & I find myself reflecting on the message when life seems hectic.

Burrco Bags - Corporate Identity

Deanna is a friend of mine & is the owner behind Burrco Bags, a budding new company out of Delaware that specializes in creating custom handbags & accessories. I recently created a logo design for the company's branding, as well as a coordinating business card design & blog design.

Deanna had an initial color palette in mind, of greens & blues, for her design, and overall wanted it to be simple & elegant. I selected a green & blue that were similar in hue, & paried it with a deep espresso brown tone & a lighter latte brown. The design features a very sleek & modern font style, coupled with a slightly whimsical handbag design.

Noah's Birth Announcement

My best friend's sister & her husband just had their second baby last week. I was thrilled to do Noah's birth announcement for them. Noah is such a miracle. When Bobbie was three months pregnant, an SUV drove through their house and knocked her through a wall [the story]. God was definitely watching over them, because today Bobbie & Noah are doing great!

I did three fun designs for Bobbie to chose from. Her only specifications were to try to use brown & teal if possible, because that is what their nursery is done in. Here are the announcements I designed for this amazing baby boy.

Custom Wall Decals

Wall Decals are very stylish in home decor right now. They are easy to apply & easy to remove, & are a very modern & creative way to decorate your walls & give new looks to any room in just a few minutes.

Here are a couple of wall decals that I designed for Mandi, a recent client. Mandi & her husband were redoing their three year old daughters room, & wanted to use custom wall decals to add unique flair to the walls.

I designed all the wall decals 19"x12" & Mandi plans to print them from Vista Print. She sent pictures of her daughters room to me, so that I could get a feel for the space. The color palette for Rian's room was all soft tones, but mainly pink, white & yellow. I was in close communication with Mandi during the design process, to determine the style & look that she wanted.
